Finding Fish
Finding Fish
Fish will appear around the player every 120-240 seconds of continuous distance traveled. A fish will appear as a small to large-sized silhouette indicating the size of the fish.
Fish will appear around the player every 60-180 seconds, the number of fish that spawn increases the more players gather in an area.

Fishing
Fishing in Castaways is a time-based reaction mini-game.
# Locate the fish you would like to catch by finding a fish silhouette in the water.
# With your fishing rod equipped, click or tap as close to the fish as possible. If you are successful, the fish will start to dart towards your lure.
# When the fish bites, a large splash will erupt from the water. To hook the fish, click as quickly as you can on the splash after it first appears.
# If successful, you will reel in your catch!

Fish Silhouettes
BIG Fish
When a fish appears in the water it will only appear as a silhouette.  The silhouettes come in four sizes: Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large. The table below illustrates  the type of fish that might be caught when you hook a fish with the corrisponding size silhouette.
There are some fish in Castaways so big that it takes two or even three other players to catch them! The big fish mini-game pits players against each other to catch the big ones. But only one player can win!
# Only Large and Extra Large fish will trigger the big fish mini-game. Big fish will have a noticeably larger silhouette than medium and small fish.
# Once the fish bites and you hook it, the big fish info panel will appear. Using this panel, you can create a one-time invite code that can be shared as a direct link to where you are.
# Your player will be unable to move until another player casts their line and joins the game.
# Once the joining player casts their line, they will go through the same fishing sequence. When the joining player sees a splash, they must click to reel in the fish.

The winner of the big fish mini-game will be the player that had the quickest reaction time between the splash and clicking to hook the fish. The first player does not need to click after they initially trigger the big fish mini-game. Their time is already locked in.
Big Fish
A big fish is any fish that takes more than 1 player to reel in. You can tell before hand by the large fish silhouette. Big Fish includes the Shark, Dolphin, Squid, and Whale. When a big fish is present, multiple players are required to start the rhythm game. Upon casting a line on a big fish, a popup window will appear above the fish saying it needs more players to be reeled in. This will also show any nearby players that you are trying to reel in a big fish and need help. When the required number of players have casted their fishing rods on the silhouette, the rhythm game will start. All players with a fishing rod hooked on the fish will compete with one another. The player who gets the highest score wins the game and is the only person to receive the big fish. 2 players are required to catch a shark, dolphin or squid and 3 players are needed to catch a whale.

Using Worms
As long as they stay in your Inventory Tab, worms will be used automatically during Rhythm Game to enhance your score. When competing for Big Fish, worms will increase your score by 10% (1.1x).<br>

For example, if you score 15 perfect, without a worm, the usual score will be 15 x 4 = 60 points. But with a worm, your score goes to 15 x (4 x 1.1) = 66 points. The player who had the worm in their pockets has a higher chance of winning the Big Fish.

When competing for Big Fish, worms will increase your chances of winning by 10% (1.1x).
Every time you compete for a big fish with worms in your inventory, the number of worms will decrease by x1 regardless of the outcome.
If both players have worms in their inventory, then they both receive the bonus, and the advantage is negated.
Visit the worm's page for more information on acquiring worms.

How to Get Worms?
Worms will randomly appear when players water Crops. Note that the Crops MUST be dry, don't water early if you want to get worms.<br>
You can water anyone's Crops. Watering does not require island permission.

Introduction

In Castaways, various Fish and Sea Junk can be caught using a Fishing Rod.

How to Fish

Craft a Fishing Rod

A Fishing RodIcon fishingRod.png is required to fish. A fishing rod can be crafted from 3x SticksIcon stick.png & 2x RopeIcon rope.png. Sticks and Rope can be found floating around the Hub or crafted.

Finding Fish

Fish will appear around the player every 60-180 seconds, the number of fish that spawn increases the more players gather in an area.

Fishing

Fishing in Castaways is a time-based reaction mini-game.

 1. Locate the fish you would like to catch by finding a fish silhouette in the water.
 2. With your fishing rod equipped, click or tap as close to the fish as possible. If you are successful, the fish will start to dart towards your lure.
 3. When the fish bites, a large splash will erupt from the water. To hook the fish, click as quickly as you can on the splash after it first appears.
 4. If successful, you will reel in your catch!

BIG Fish

There are some fish in Castaways so big that it takes two or even three other players to catch them! The big fish mini-game pits players against each other to catch the big ones. But only one player can win!

 1. Only Large and Extra Large fish will trigger the big fish mini-game. Big fish will have a noticeably larger silhouette than medium and small fish.
 2. Once the fish bites and you hook it, the big fish info panel will appear. Using this panel, you can create a one-time invite code that can be shared as a direct link to where you are.
 3. Your player will be unable to move until another player casts their line and joins the game.
 4. Once the joining player casts their line, they will go through the same fishing sequence. When the joining player sees a splash, they must click to reel in the fish.

The winner of the big fish mini-game will be the player that had the quickest reaction time between the splash and clicking to hook the fish. The first player does not need to click after they initially trigger the big fish mini-game. Their time is already locked in.
