The Homestead update is one of the major content updates for the Castaways game during alpha. It contains new functionalitys both on and off islands.
The Homestead update:
- Sacks - players are able to craft sacks using Old Boots to expand storage
- Farming - various mechanics related to acquiring Seeds, planting and harvesting Crops and protecting your crops from Birds, as well as new types of Trees
- Day and Night cycles - the game has alternating 1 hr day and night cycles (with different mechanics during each)
- Weather - Added Rain
- Permissions - island owners are now able to set much more granular permissions for players they add to their island
- Composting - the Composter creates Dirt, using Crops and Sand
The Homestead Update was released on November 28th, 2022 during Town Hall at 3pm PST, 6pm EST.
