Bird Feeding is an important gameplay aspect of Castaways and the only way to get Seeds. The Bird FeederIcon birdFeeder.png was introduced in the Homestead Update, and plays a very important role in Farming.

Player gets 1 bird feeder for free. Bird Feeder obtained that way is bound to player's island and can not be placed to any other islands.

Transferable bird feeders can be bought from marketplace with dabloons. Bird-feeder.png

How Bird Feeding Works

  • The player places it on an island.
  • The player places Fish or Seeds into the Bird Feeder to attract Seagulls
  • During the Day cycle, Seagulls will come to eat the fish or seeds, and will subsequently poop
  • The player can mine the poop to potentially harvest Seeds
  • The feed used will impact the likelihood of getting different types of seeds.
  • Up to 12 Seagulls will come during one day cycle
  • Bird Feeders can be connected to Factories
  • For seed drop rates check out the Seeds page
