The Homestead update is one of the major content updates for the Castaways game during alpha and is expected on November 28th, 2022. It will contain a lot of new functionality both on and off islands.
Known updates coming in the Homestead update:
- Bags - players will be able to craft bags using Old Boot to expand storage
- Farming - various mechanics related to acquiring Seeds, planting and harvesting Crops and protecting your crops from Birds, as well as Trees
- Day and Night cycles - the game will have alternating 1 hr day and night cycles (with different mechanics during each)
- Weather - there will be Rain, Hurricanes, and Volcanic Eruptions
- Permissions - island owners will be able to set much more granular permissions for players they add to their island
