The first step towards playing and enjoying castaways is downloading the game for your preferred device. Castaways is free to play and available in the app store, the google play store, and for both Mac and PC.  Go to the official website [http://www.castaways.com/play castaways.com/play] to download the game.

Now that you are logged in you are good to go! <br>
If you do not own an island, you should start with finding [[File:Icon stick.png|30px|]][[Stick]]s and [[File:Icon rope.png|30px|]][[Rope]]s floating around the [[Hub]] ocean to make a [[File:Icon fishingRod.png|30px|]] [[Fishing Rod]].
After you are able to craft a [[Fishing Rod]], you can check the [[Fishing]] page for more detailed guidance, or the [[crafting]] page for more crafting recipes.


===Starting on an Island===
When you first start the game you will first be asked to verify you age.  After you answer you will be asked to 'start' or 'join a friend'. If you are creating a new account, click start.
If you do not own an [[Island]], you will need to join someone who does own one. Currently this is the only way to play beyond fishing and watering crops. <br>

In the near future there will be [[Public Islands]] available to all players.


Every [[File:Branch island layers.png|32px|link=]] [[Island]] starts with 1 fully grown [[Palm Tree]], a [[File:Icon woodAxe.png|30px|link=https://wiki.castaways.com/wiki/Wood_Axe]] [[Wood Axe]], and the basic terraformed island featuring 12 blocks of [[File:Icon blockGrass.png|32px|link=]] [[grass]], 12 of [[File:Icon blockStone.png|30px|link=]] [[stone]], and 20 blocks of [[File:Icon blockSand.png|32px|link=]] [[sand]].
You will then be asked to provide a phone number or email address. This will be used to verify you identity. Once you receive the code enter it in the space provided.

Getting Started

Download

The first step towards playing and enjoying castaways is downloading the game for your preferred device. Castaways is free to play and available in the app store, the google play store, and for both Mac and PC. Go to the official website castaways.com/play to download the game.

Create your Account

When you first start the game you will first be asked to verify you age. After you answer you will be asked to 'start' or 'join a friend'. If you are creating a new account, click start.
