Volcano

A Volcano is a 40 x 40 block wide fixed structure that exist on some islands. Every 24 hours lava spawns at the top of every volcano which can be collected with a bucket.

With the Homestead Update, the Weather gameplay mechanic will be introduced, along with Volcanic Eruptions.
